Benefits Of Spirulina Dance Moves

Benefits of spirulina nutrition has left me suitably impressed. When I first heard about Spirulina, I had hoped it might be some cool new type of dance move for me to learn! I am pleased to say that I have since learnt that whilst the name does lend itself nicely to a funky manovoure on the dance floor, it is much more well known for being a super food.

So What Is Spirulina? What Is Blue Green Algae?

I am no scientist, but here goes! There are thousands of algae types grown all over the world, ranging in size and living off our natural light. Spirulina can also be known as blue-green algae, spirulina algae, freshwater algae, as well as red algae amongst other names. Spirulina, or blue green algae, grows very fast, not only water, but also in soil, on plants and rocks.

This great blue-green algae is known to be an extremely high source of protein. In fact, it is mainly made up of protein, making it one of the richest sources of vegetable protein around! Not to mention that it is minus all the things we don't need or want to be taking in. Fabulous, one thing less to think about, isn't that right!

This superfood is packed full of minerals, vitamins and other nutrients, which is great considering our soils are depleated of some of the necessary minerals through chemicals and farm management systems. This algae fuel is good for us. Actually it is more than that. It is essential for us!

What Are Some Benefits Of Spirulina?

  • Some studies indicate that benefits of spirulina water extract, or blue-green algae, can inhibit and minimise the risk of cancer.
  • It is a wonderful tonic for our body and helps to strengthen our immune system in general.
  • The dark blue green colour shows Spirulina is rich in Phycocyanin, helping to build blood and healthy red and white blood cells.
  • It's high in essential amino acids.
  • It's high in chlorophyll.
  • It's high in beta-carotene.
  • It's high with GLA essential fatty acid.
  • It's low in cholesterol.
  • It's low in fat.
  • It's low in calories.
  • It encourages intestinal flora balance.

All this and more increases your energy levels and puts your body in a great position to be the best it can be, for as long as it can. No wonder blue-green algae is considered a superfood - it is an algae fuel! That means that I might indeed last longer on the dance floor doing my spiruling spirulina moves - so as far as I am concerned, it is a win win for me!

Note: the FDA allows the above claims for Spirulina when taken orally. However, the law does not have provisions to allow the same claims when Spirulina is applied topically. This is true for all nutrients used topically. The above is only a small amount that is known about Spirulina. This is information about Spirulina algae in general. We however, cannot make any claims about the Spirulina algae used in our products.
