Swollen Lymph Nodes
30 and worried

by Amy
(Denison)

I have a lump on the left side of my left breast and I did a mammogram and a ultrasound but even though the radiologist could feel this painless lump the tests did not show anything. He told me because I was only 29 I should just watch it. It has been 10 months and I am now 30 and this lump has become painful with pulling and swelling. I had a ultrasound today and they are saying now that I have a swollen lymph node in the spot that I have the lump. I am getting really concerned because they have ruled out any infection. I keep getting this crap about being 30 and that it is not likely to be breast cancer. This may be the case but I need to know because a women knows her breast and this breast is not mine.

Editors Note: Hi Amy. Thank you so much for sharing your story - I feel for you! I am not a Dr so can not tell you what your problem is, however you could explore thermography and perhaps discuss biopsy with your Dr.

There can be many reasons for having a breast lump and most lumps are not cancer. Age is no barrier to breast cancer either. You know your body better than anyone and if you feel something isn't right, such as painful pulling and swelling, it needs more investigation. Follow your instincts. Suzie
