Tea Bagging Slows Breast Cancer

Tea bagging has little charm, compared to years gone by. Ahhhhh the copper tea kettle blew steam, it was time for a cuppa! Afternoon tea sandwiches, three cups of tea, games, children giggling over tea party ideas, ending with the fun of reading tea leaves. But can it help breast cancer?

In Britain, a cup of chai has always been popular, with millions becoming daily drinkers. Americans seem to be drinking more and more! As soon as there was a problem, a drama unfolded, visitors arrived, or good news was being told, the kettle was on.

Loose tea or tea bagging, the personal debate goes on. But the fact is, that it is found to have disease fighting capabilities, possibliy helping the fight against breast cancer, and other health issues.

Tea has huge antioxidant qualities and just a single cup provides a healthly dose of antioxidants called Polyphenols. These antioxidants hunt out free radicals floating around our bodies, which are linked to causing cancer and other health problems. The antioxidants reduce the free radicals ability to cause trouble in your body.

Although some women worry about the caffeine content, most drinks average out to have 35-60 milligrams of caffeine, depending on the type of tea and how it was made. Green tea has less caffeine, but a cup of coffee can have 125-185 milligrams of caffeine. The majority of caffeine is released in the first five minutes.

Fermentation and oxidisation help give us what we know as black tea, which is a great source of vitamins and minerals. Some studies seem inconclusive and inconsistent about this hot drink, and its possibilities of reducing breast cancer. Considering women have been drinking and enjoying tea for years, its healthy with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, and it tastes refreshing, I say go for it and start drinking. Whilst there is no guarantee it reduces breast cancer, its got to be good for you.
